Mr. Smith is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sergeant (the highest obtainable enlisted rank), Special Missions Unit Member, and Force Reconnaissance Team leader with over 25 years of experience.
While serving in the Special Operations community, Mr. Smith had the distinct honor of creating, developing, and leading highly selective teams comprised of driven men and women capable of successfully tackling complex problems in dynamic and austere environments. With combat deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa, Mr. Smith understands what is required to lead people, take feedback, and make real-time decisions so the collective group can prevail in demanding situations.
Since his departure from the Marines in 2015, Mr. Smith founded Stand For Something Clothing, a lifestyle Apparel Brand, and JBRV INC, a training and security consulting business.
Mr. Maier has 14 years of private equity, venture capital, and operations experience. For the past 7 years, Mr. Maier has assisted private equity with the turnaround and management of their portfolio companies. His titles have included COO, CFO, and Director of Operations and Business Development.
Mr. Maier has served as the Direcor of Operations and Purchasing for Sanmar Laboratories where he managed a chemical purchasing budget of $10 million annually.
Prior to his time at Sanmar, Mr. Maier was Director of Operations and Business Development for US Spine in Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Maier also has extensive experience in private equity, having served as an executive vice president at Cotton Creek Capital Management, and as a principal at Hela Capital Partners.
